Earliest founded in 1964 under the name of "Yangzhou Chemical Fertilizer Plant", and started its "first-time undertaking";

The year of 1986 was a milestone in the company's history, in which the main product was changed into dipped nylon-6 cord fabric from chemical fertilizer, and two sets of facilities were established to produce 500t/a nylon-6 filaments and 150t/a dimethyl-5-sodiosulfoisophthalate (SIPM)respectively, thus the "second-time undertaking" was started;

In 1987, it was renamed as "Yangzhou Organic Chemical Plant";

In 1995,the company took the lead in adopting CIMS(computer integrated manufacturing system) to assist production and marketing in China, and became one of the first batch of Chinese enterprises in information building;

In 1997, the expansion project of 2,000t/a SIPM listed as national "Two Plus" project was accomplished, with the quality and quantity of the product both stand among the leading places in China;

In 1999, the production capacity of 15,000t/a dipped nylon-6 cord fabric was achieved, marking the satisfactory completion of the "second-time undertaking". At the end of the same year, it was reconstructed entirely into state-held enterprise—Jiangsu Qunfa Chemical Co., Ltd.;

In 2000, the production capacity of 18,000t/a dipped nylon-6 cord fabric was achieved, and the "third-time undertaking" was started;

In 2001, the new ?1,400m polymerization tube, representing the advanced level among the locally-made, which was designed, manufactured, and installed by the company itself, was put into operation, and the total capacity of dipped nylon-6 cord fabric reached 30,000t/a. In the meantime, this new tube marks the company has reached advanced level in polyamide engineering;

At the end of August, 2002, the first session of First Share-holders Congress as well as the founding ceremony for new company after completing debt-to-equity swap were held, which passed the new company regulations, and brought about the board of the directors as well as the board of supervisors.

By the end of 2002,the project of 2,000t/a dipped HMLS(high modulus low shrinkage) polyester cord fabric was completed, adding a new space for the company's development.
